Houston rapper Big Hawk was shot and killed on Monday (May 1) in Houston.According to reports, the rapper -- who was a member of the late DJ Screw's rap collective, the Screwed Up Click, and brother to rapper Fat Pat, who was killed in 1998 -- was shot while meeting a friend at around 10:30 p.m.Sources say that he arrived before his friend and walked to the side of the house where he was shot several times, said police. He died at the scene.Currently, there are no suspects, but police say that a witness saw a white compact car with tinted windows nearby shortly after the shooting, according to the Associated Press.Hawk, 36, was a well-respected rapper amongst the Houston hip-hop scene, appearing on numerous mixtapes alongside artists like Paul Wall, Lil' Flip, Z-Ro and Big Pokey, among others.He released a self-titled album in 2001 that reached #45 on Billboard's list of top R&B and rap albums. He was also featured on fellow Houston rapper, Trae's popular single "Swang."Hawk is survived by his wife and two children.
